IMPROVED TECHNOLOGY FOR MANUFACTURING GRAVEL FILTERS IN OIL AND GAS WELLS

Abstract

Gravel filters are an important element in the development of gas wells, as they prevent sand from being carried out of the reservoir and provide reliable gas filtration. However, existing technologies for installing gravel filters have a number of disadvantages that reduce their efficiency and reliability. This article examines the problems associated with traditional methods of constructing gravel filters and proposes an improved technology for their construction using the reverse circulation method, which solves these problems and ensures more efficient operation of wells. The traditional technology for the construction of gravel filters involves drilling a well to the roof of the collector layer, expanding the trunk to a diameter of 250-320 mm and lowering the drilling equipment (filter frame, valve system, flushing pipes and circulation coupling). After that, gravel is poured into the annular space, which is deposited between the walls of the well and the frame filter. The process is monitored by a cavernometer, and a clay solution is used for washing.
