Abstract
Після краху соціалістичного блоку країни Центрально-Східної Європи (ЦСЄ) набули можливість самостійно обирати шлях розвитку, орієнтуючись на моделі розвинених західних демократій. Однак весь цей час Росія намагалася відновити тут вплив на суспільні настрої та політикум, активно просуваючи псевдонаукові ідеї своєї винятково значимої ролі. Регіон різною мірою протидіяв подібним наративам, але позиція країн змінилась після 24 лютого 2022 р. Для цивілізованого світу вторгнення російської армії на територію України стало порушенням міжнародного права та наступом авторитаризму на демократію в глобальному вимірі. Але країни ЦСЄ побачили в цьому ще й загрозу існування власній державності.
After the socialist bloc collapse, the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) gained the opportunity to choose their path of development, focusing on models of Western democracies. However, all this time Russia tried to restore its influence on public attitudes and politics, actively promoting pseudo-scientific ideas of its exceptional significance. The region resisted such narratives to varying degrees, but the situation changed after February 24, 2022. For the civilized world, Russian invasion into Ukraine was a violation of international law and an authoritarianism attack on democracy in a global scale. But CEE countries also saw in this a threat to their own statehood.
