In 2014 the Ministry of Energy worked out and approved a strategic program for development of coal industry up to 2030. The program is designed to meet stable and reliable internal demands of Russia for coal and coal products and solution of social problems, and it takes into account the development of the internal market due to advanced coal processing, coal chemistry products and comprehensive use of coal. The main goal of the Congress is to assist scienti fi c and technological cooper- ation for the bene fi t of achieving progress in coal preparation and to fi nd solutions of environmental issues, directly correlating with the strategic program of devel- opment of the coal industry, which once more underlines the importance of the Congress for our country.
